What is the Greenhouse Effect and How it Causes Global Warming?

What is the Greenhouse Effect?

The greenhouse effect is the process in which greenhouse gasses are trapped near the earth’s surface. These gases then trap heat and increase the earth’s temperature. It makes the earth warmer causing many problems.

The greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide mostly comes from chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). CFCs are most commonly used in refrigeration, air conditioning, etc.

How the Greenhouse Effect causes Global Warming?

The basic cause of global warming is this effect. It is because of the greenhouse effect that global warming increases during the last century.

During the past 50 years, the temperature of the earth increased faster than in the whole earth’s history. This makes the situation much more alarming for us as we are the one who suffers at the end.

The effect will do global warming that causes the temperature to increase, glaciers will melt causing floods during summers, the winter goes colder and the summer hotter. You have noticed the speedy change in climate during the past decade or two. The rain systems do not come on time, negatively affecting agriculture. Many times when the crops are ready to be cultivated, the heavy rainstorms come and destroy the ready crops. This may cause food shortages in the coming years.

Save Earth from Greenhouse effect
Save Planet A as there is no Planet B

We still have time to change our behaviors and consider our environment while industrialization. Moreover, stop deforestation and spread awareness in future generations about tree plantation.

We should do research and development to limit the use of CFCs and other gases that are the main cause of the greenhouse effect. Furthermore, new ways of cooling and refrigeration should be preferred.
